It seems inevitable
that with the popularity, exposure & physique,
Steve Burton would find his way onto a poster.
"We shot it in the middle of summer," he explains. "A time when I was always
on the go -- running, surfing, exercising
-- and it just felt like the right time to [tackle a project] like this."
No doubt the right time, but also the right place.
Steve has been involved in every facet of the poster's development from the
onset, including scouting location "all
around the Los Angeles area. We (photographer Kal Yee) drove up and down
the streets. Some were too dark, some were
to bright. Then we found a place with perfect lighting, a good color wall,
and everything would be coming
together great, something would happen and we would have to redo the shots."

As one of GH's blue-blooded Quartermaines, Jason gets his meals served to him on a silver platter. But in real life, Steve Burton has to fend for himself. "I always make my own meals," boasts Burton. "No one ever showed me how to cook; I just picked up a few things on my own. But I have to admit, my meals are never anything fancy."
He believes in sticking to the basics. "I usually make steak, swordfish or chicken and have it with potatoes and a vegetable," shares Burton, who prefers to cook on a grill. "I find that if I marinate my meat for an hour or so, then slap it on the grill, it tastes a lot better. It is also an easier and healthier way to cook."
Burton loves grilled food so much, he wishes he had a hibachi in his dressing room. Since that would be impractical, he has to improvise. "The prop guys on our show let me use their oven, and I make my special barbecue chicken if I don't feel like ordering out," he smiles. "It takes longer to cook in the oven, but sometimes you just have to work with what you've got." Co-star Kimberly McCullough (Robin) lends a hand. "I don't cook, so it's fun watching Steve make his famous chicken," smiles McCullough. "I'm going to have to get the recipe."

"Spring fever to me is being able to go surfing and enjoy it more because the water is warmer and it doesn't freeze me to death as it does in the wintertime. I look forward to that every spring. It reminds me of my childhood, growing up on the East Coast and always having snow. It was the first sign of spring when the weather got better and I could leave the house and not have to shovel snow to get to my car."
What was your most memorable fan encounter?
"Earlier this year, I was at Worlds of Fun, a great amusement park in Kansas City. I met a bunch of students from Sumner Academy -- all actresses in the making! We hung out on the rides and had fun until I had to leave and make a personal appearance at a car show in town. Just as I was getting a bit bored, I looked up and couldn't believe my eyes -- every one of them had come to keep me company.
Anybody not hear about the calendar? Too late, it sold like hotcakes. Maybe he'll do a 1997?
What was the most annoying stunt a roommate ever pulled?
"A friend from high school and I shared a great two-bedroom apartment. Another friend got kicked out of his house and asked to bunk with us for a few days. He stayed six months! After thoroughly trashing the place (I wasn't totally innocent on that part!), I got my own place and the other two eventually got evicted. We still call the guy `Moochie.'"
Would you sleep with someone for a million dollars?
"I would if it were tax free."
This is one of those pages that will expand as I find more.
Check back again in a few weeks. Thanks!
